We need a return to $20,000 price range vehicles.

That’s still sooooo much for a compact truck

Colorado starts at $22k.

Better build a time machine or grow to like econoboxes, because inflation is thing.
Also the above is in Canada bucks, which makes it look more expensive than it is.

We need Dacia Duster based pickup trucks..
https://www.dacia.de/dacia-modellpalette/dacia-modelluebersicht/dacia-duster.html
If the suv starts at the equivalent of 12,700USD surely they could make a truck for less than 20k..

I wish old trucks were cheaper too . I’ve been shopping.

HHHHHHNNNNNGGGGGHHHHGGG! I want it!

Did you make the conversion to American dollars?

@32$

That’s a rip off. My dad paid $33k for his ZR2. After taxes... about 40k :/
It was cheaper than the lesser Z71s on the lot.
I love that blue

I live in Canada.

I wish they were less ugly.

But, but, but you’d have a hard time reselling it because it doesn’t have a huge motor, 4WD, endangered-species leather seats, a resale-friendly color like silver or black, 27 speaker stereo, 4-doors, fold-down DVD screens, 22" low-profile wheels and tires and all of the other things that trucks need to have these days...
/s
(I’d take a truck like your example over a loaded, bloated ‘luxury’ one any day of the week)

Well, here I go looking at ZR2s again. On a related note, how long of a drive is it from Toronto to that dealership?
![]() 10/14/2019 at 16:14 |

30 hours. They also have an orange one.

Looks like there’s a dealer nearer by to offer a similar deal: http://www.autotrader.ca/go/5-45477228
That blue is much better though, as is the orange. I might still have to go and test drive a ZR2. I’m currently working the numbers on a Ranger though so we’ll see if that pans out.

At this rate it's cheaper than a Ranger. I bet you could haggle a hell of a deal.

I’m looking to get an XLT Ranger crew can with the 302A “luxury” and tow packages for $37k pre-tax or less so the Ranger would be a good chunk cheaper and much more sensible (and boring, one could argue ). Discussions started around $40k with me at $35k so we’ll see if I can get it to what I’m willing to pay.
![]() 10/14/2019 at 17:35 |

Holy smokes that would be a great deal.
![]() 10/14/2019 at 17:52 |

It needs to be for me to consider it worthwhile over an F150 with their much bigger discounts. I don’t have my hopes too high that I’ll get it below $37k but they know I won’t buy it if it’s not a price I’m happy with because I don’t absolutely need to buy a new vehicle.
![]() 10/14/2019 at 17:59 |
|
Excellent point, but I find even the F-150s I want after discounts are still well enough more than the Ranger to make them not worth considering (and I drive an F-150 for work, I prefer the Silverado). It’s good to not have that urgency to replace a vehicle, too.
My mum keeps saying “are you going to buy a safer vehicle than your Fiesta for the winter?” She doesn’t seem as keen when I ask her how much she’s willing to pay to help out.

I picked orange crush as my only option.

I did, still many dollars.

That sort of coin in Oz (and there’s not much to differentiate between AUD and CAD) would N OT get you into a base spec 4x4 dual cab Colorado let alone a ZR2 .

I’ve driven a Dacia Duster (Renault-badged.)
it’s a piece of shit.
